I tried in vain to brainwash
little while ago I got home and sat around waiting for the news to the TV, with "La Segunda" hands. Like many "news" on TV are such in these brackets read "Second." But for the nine still missing and the TV was tuned to Cable Channel 13, which contained a program called "Requiem" and something else about famous burial history. This case was
André Jarlan the father, a French priest who lived in the 80s in the population, "La Victoria" and who was killed by a bullet fired by a police officer in during a "day of protest" against the military government, organized by opponents politicians. Those called to "protest" gave rise to the FPMR, the MIR Lautaro and employ their weapons, especially in this population, which forced law enforcement to use their own. The opposition hopes were pinned on that this would lead to innocent victims, to exploit to the detriment of the regime.
The television version of the priest's death stated, leaving no room for doubt, he was murdered. Monsignor Cristián Precht appeared speaking at the funeral Mass at the Cathedral, referring to the "assassin's bullet." Much clearer. Then came the film, the same day, Cardinal Archbishop Raul Silva Henriquez, who said something surprising (quote from memory): "It's okay to kill priests and have killed so many other Chileans." And left the camera visibly pleased with his wit.
In the end, I almost brainwashed. But, sorry, I remembered the truth. First, the priest Jarlan that day would not be part of the "day of protest", possibly to avoid being subject to political exploitation. So rather than join the demonstrations "La Victoria", like other priests, sat at a small table-desk on the second floor of the parish and began to read the Bible. The street was
serious disorders. It was night. A group of police tried to break up the demonstrations and fired into the air. Among them was a surname after Quilodrán Poveda. His shot deflected off the top of the trunk of a tree and pierced the wooden wall on the second floor of the house where he was the father Jarlan, out of sight out with such bad luck that gave it with right ear, killing him.
were instructed a process that lasted years and eventually ordinary courts had no jurisdiction. In 1992 dismissed the case. No one has revived, not only because it is legally appropriate (although it does not matter to current judges) but because, if done, would be publicly demonstrated that it was an accidental death. And that would not be politically correct, acceptable or desirable, for widespread adoption has been constituted irrefutable fact that the father was killed André Jarlan.
And almost twenty years later is still holding well in a recent television program bill and widely disseminated, effectively contributes to the brain washing of Chileans, led to leave them completely free of any historical truth. Task
already is almost completely accomplished. Except in my case, of course, that admittedly has no remedy.
